high risk identification

NameHAMURWA HC IV
Activity Titlehigh risk identification
DetailsMaternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality remain a major public health concern in Uganda, especially in rural settings. Early identification and management of high-risk pregnancies are essential to prevent complications such as preeclampsia, preterm birth, and perinatal death. At Hamurwa HCIV, many expectant mothers present late or with complications that could have been prevented through timely risk detection during antenatal care (ANC). This CPD session was therefore organized to strengthen the knowledge and skills of maternity staff in identifying and managing high-risk pregnancies effectively through review of mothers with the common risk factors associated with high-risk pregnancies, early detection during antenatal visits, documentation and communication among maternity staff.
